I chose to investigate anime and its influence on Western animation as the art form significantly influences my creative work. Anime is an abbreviated pronunciation in Japanese for ‘animation.’ Anime is the result of creating animation based on original manga stories (a style of illustration used in comic books that we widely read by all ages of Japanese people). Manga is the elder brother of anime, and most anime wsa based on manga. There are different genres of manga comics. For example, there are housewife mangas and sports mangas.  I researched whether anime influenced Western animation and needed to understand its origins and principles.  I remember being a kid to a teenager who saw anime’s three animations: Robotech, Kimba (1966) and Sapphire (Princess Knight, 1967 - 1968).  My sketches are here. It was my research for fantasy illustration on 19th August 2011. I used to give depth and solidity to the subject. I thought of an artistic concept in the fantasy illustration.
